It looks like a big February for Starzyk Play Productions.
February 9  Reading of "Seasons Change" at the Provincetown Theater
February 11-13 "A Wonderful Life - Really?" at the Village Players Theater in Paw Paw, MI
February 16  Reading of "Once Upon a Life" at the Provincetown Theater
February 18-19 "A Wonderful Life-Really?" at the Village Players Theater in Paw Paw, MI

Updates

Well excitement builds as the auditions for the April one-acts approach. Hopefully we'll get a good turn out and meet lots of new and talented actors. Also the first date is set in Provincetown. Wednesday February 16 is when the Provincetown Theater will do a reading of "Once Upon a Life." It will happen start at 7:00 PM. So anyone near the Cape on that date, come on out.

Still looking for more sponsors and more publicity for the one-acts. It's supporting three great causes, so if anyone knows of a possible sponsor: Let Me Know. Additionally, if anyone has any pull with Oprah or Ellen see if you can get them to give us a shout out.

Marching Forward

Auditions for the April one-acts will be on Jan 25 and 26 at 7:00 PM at the Cohoes Music Hall. The process moves forward. And in the search for more venues to produce my work I've sent off more one-acts. Two to the Theater Oxford in Oxford, MS. (No not a return to where my playwriting started) Then today two more to Dubuque Fine Arts in Dubuque, IA. I wonder if they realize that I wrote a song about their fair city 32 years ago. Also the Barnyard Theater in Davis, CA, is still considering some of my full length plays.

It is an exciting time when things start coming together. I'll keep you posted.

Awaiting dates

This is the time of year when awaiting dates is activity de jour. Waiting to hear which two Wednesdays the Provincetown Theater will be reading my plays. Also waiting to get some open venue dates to hold auditions for the April one-acts. Lots going on, so that's nice. But it is difficult for an individual who isn't patient by nature to wait.

It will all work out, eventually.

Wonderful Wintery Night

Well the roads suck, but everyone is where they should be and the Provincetown Theater is doing a reading of two plays this winter. Once Upon a Life and Season's Change. It will be part of their Winter Reading Series.

God love the Provincetown Theater.

Hoping to get home

Winding down the dead third day of a trade show, one's thoughts turn to the weather. Mostly hoping the snow will hold off long enough to allow me to get home. Also anxiously awaiting the word, yes or no, on the Provincetown Theater Winter Reading Series. Hopefully they will be interested in at least one play. I'll check the E-mail when I get home.

Keep checking everyone for updates on the April one-acts. New info will be posted as soon as it happens.

Here's wishing everyone else down here at MANTS a safe trip home.

Good Morning Baltimore

Hopefully day 2 of Baltimore will be more action packed than day one. Haven't seen all the dancing and singing teens that Hairspray promises. Perhaps today will be the day.

Waiting to hear from a number of theaters. Not being a patient person this is quite difficult for me. Hopefully, auditions went well at Village Players-Paw Paw MI. I'm anxious to see their version of "A Wonderful Life - Really?"

Off to Baltimore

Getting ready to head to Baltimore for the MANTS. It has nothing to do with the theater. It does have to do with something that actually pays me. Things are shaping up nicely for the April one-acts. Lots of good people are interested. Hopefully I'll have the venue finalized by Jan 15 and then it's continue raising money. The first $ 1,000 has come in so that is a good thing.

2011

A new year brings new opportunities. Just sent 3 scripts to Cape Cod C.C. and their "Play with your food" series. Hopefully at least one will be deemed worthy.

Had a reading at the house of several one-acts that will be part of the April show. It was great to hear them aloud and to witness some really good cold performances. Are you reading this Remy and Matt?

The push for getting works performed continues. If any agents are reading this: HEY I'M OUT HERE.

I'm sure that will get their attention.
