Getting into theaters.

Trying to get new works into theaters is an incredibly difficult task. So many theaters won't take a chance  on new artists and the ones that do often have their own stable of writers. So where to go? Self producing. A great option if you don't mind the unbelievable amount of work. Festivals. Often crowded with entries, but worth a shot.Scattergun. My favorite. Try any and everything you can. It's begun to work for me. In February, Village Players Theater in Paw Paw, MI will be producing "It's A Wonderful Life - Really?", as part of their one-act festival. In late April I'll be producing my own one-act festival as a fund raiser for three different not-for-profits: ARC of Rensselaer County, Our Brother's Keeper and Hunger Action Network. The most important thing is getting your work seen, so do whatever it takes.
